Step into the captivating world of living legacies at the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage. We are excited to introduce a series of new South Carolina Museum Tours offering  unique insights into the history and culture of the Catawba Nation and the Gullah people of Sandy Island.

"Living Legacy Tours" focus on exhibits that celebrate history and the present day by shining a light on communities that made a significant impact on our region and are still doing so today.

About the Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage

Located in downtown Ridgeland, SC, the Morris Center serves as the perfect venue for this immersive experience. Nestled in the heart of the Lowcountry and easily accessible off the 95 corridor, our center is dedicated to preserving and promoting the diverse heritage of the region.

During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to delve into the rich history and traditions of the Catawba Nation and the Gullah community through engaging exhibits and informative presentations. 

Learn how these communities are preserving their legacies and discover the cultural significance of their enduring traditions.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, a cultural aficionado, or simply curious about the living legacies of the Lowcountry, these South Carolina museum tours offer something for everyone to enjoy. Join us as we celebrate the resilience, ingenuity, and spirit of the Catawba and Gullah people and gain a deeper understanding of their contributions to the cultural tapestry of the region.
